Eugene and Portland in battle to the death

All signs point to rivalry

According to Bike Portland (a blog meant to make everyone not living in Portland hate their city) Eugene, Oregon was recently granted “Gold” status by the League of American Bicyclists.  This makes Eugene one Oregon’s seven rated cities, and one of the state’s two cities to receive a gold. Oh poor Oregon! Only SEVEN of your cities merit a rating?? Of course, Portland is one of only three cities in America to be rated “Platinum.”  We can all see where this is going: an elaborate and potentially dangerous rivalry as each city puts a metaphorical stick through the other’s metaphorical spokes.  I imagine it will play out something like this:

We have 7 rated cities. Only two are gold. But I agree with you…I think having so many highly-rated cities in close proximity will make for constructive rivalries.

Ahh…thanks for the clarification (I made the necessary corrections). I was too blind with jealous rage to get the details right.
