A Century of Coverage: The New York Times on Bicycles

Amazing.

The New York Times has a great blog piece concerning how urban cycling was covered in the paper over a century ago.  Turns out that not much has changed.  Cyclists and pedestrians didn’t get along, larger vehicles and bicycles battled for space on the roads, and some concerned citizens argued that riding a bicycle without a brake was dangerous.

Maybe this time next century we’ll have it all figured out?
