Bike lanes working: Vancouver

Oh god. Canadians are so nerdy looking.

A new bike lane crossing Burrard Bridge in Vancouver has been a big success, and a recent poll suggests that 45% of respondents support continuing the trial (only 21% were opposed).  The numbers of cyclist using the lane demonstrates its effectiveness in encouraging bicycling.  There were 70,000 additional bicycle trips across the bridge between July and September, an increase of 26%.

Not too shabby.
