Cargo Bikes: Yes, please.

Cool? Cool.

Inevitably, I’m going to get a cargo bike.  Why should going to get groceries, several cases of beer, lumber and tools, or taking small kids (or adults) for a ride involve getting in the car?  Especially when the weather is good, any (all!) of these tasks would be better by bike.  For the uninitiated, Treehugger has a good overview of the various cargo bikes out there, including Larry vs. Harry Bullitt bikes, Christiana, Bilenky, and more.

They aren’t cheap, and they lack some of the convenience of a regular bike (you can’t throw them on your shoulder and take a few flights of stairs), but they serve a real purpose.  And they just look awesome.

Three generations, one cargo bike.
